Products Management Guide

Overview

The Products tab is your central hub for managing all products imported from your Shopify or custom store. Here you can view products, filter them, change their status, and access detailed product information.

Product List View

Viewing Products

The product list displays:

  • Product Title: Name of the product
  • Current Price: Your current selling price
  • Price Difference: Price difference between your current selling price and related competitor price
  • Suggested Price: Calculated suggested price based on repricing rules (if applicable)
  • Compare-at Price: Your compare-at price (if set)
  • Cost: Cost of your product (if set)
  • Repricing Rule: Repricing rule used to calculate suggested price
  • Brand: Brand (vendor) of your product
  • Last synced: When the competitor product information was last refreshed
  • Status: Draft, Watch, or Watch & Reprice. On a competitor row, there are buttons for reporting wrong price and other settings

Filtering Products

Use the filter bar to narrow down products (CMD+F, Ctrl+F):

Status Filter

  • All: Show all products regardless of status
  • Draft: Products not being monitored
  • Watch: Products being monitored but not repriced
  • Watch & Reprice: Products with automatic repricing enabled

Inventory Filter

  • All: Show all products
  • In Stock: Only products with inventory > 0
  • Out of Stock: Only products with no inventory

Note: only available if quantity tracking enabled for your products

Search

  • Search by product name or SKU
  • Search is case-insensitive and supports partial matches

Additional Filters

  • Collections: Filter by Shopify collections
  • Vendors: Filter by product brand (vendor)
  • Repricing Rules: Filter by which repricing rule is applied
  • Price Difference: Filter by how your price compares to competitors (price difference is greater/less, negative/positive, by amount/percent, excluding/including, with threshold specification)
  • Safeguard Marks: Filter products that hit repricing safeguard limits (include/exclude)

Sorting Products

Products can be sorted by:

  • Product name (A-Z, Z-A)
  • Price (low to high, high to low)
  • Number of competitors
  • Last update time
  • Market position

This setting persists between app refreshing.

Bulk Actions

Select multiple products (Edit) to perform bulk operations:

  1. Discover competitors: Discover competitors for selected products
  2. Apply Suggested Price: Set suggested price to selected products if it is present
  3. Use Multiple Variants: Split products into multiple variants as it is set in Shopify admin (otherwise first variant is used)
  4. Use No Variants: Don't consider multiple variants, just use the first default one. Reverts Use multiple variants
  5. Set Status: Set status to Draft, Watch, or Watch & Reprice
  6. Remove: Remove products from the app

Product Profile View

Click on any product to view detailed information:

Product Information Section

  • Product Title: Full product name
  • SKU: Stock keeping unit
  • Barcode: Product barcode (if available)
  • Price: Your current selling price
  • Compare-at Price: Your compare-at price (if set)
  • Cost: Product cost (if configured)
  • Status: Draft, Watch, Watch & Reprice

Status Management

Change product status directly from the profile page:

To Draft

  • Stops all monitoring
  • Removes from alerts and repricing
  • Use when you want to temporarily stop tracking

To Watch

  • Enables monitoring
  • Requires at least one competitor
  • Alerts will trigger but prices won't auto-update

To Watch & Reprice

  • Full automation enabled
  • Requires at least one competitor
  • Requires at least one repricing rule
  • Prices will update automatically

Competitors Section

View all competitors for this product:

Competitor Information

  • Competitor name/domain
  • Current price
  • Price difference from your price
  • Last update time
  • Stock status (in stock/out of stock)
  • Discovery score (similarity level, if discovered and not yet confirmed)

Competitor Actions

  • Confirm: Verify this is the correct competitor (after discovery)
  • Report Issue: Report if price extraction is incorrect
  • Delete: Remove this competitor
  • View History: See price history chart

Adding Competitors

  • Click "Add competitor"
  • Paste competitor product direct URL
  • System extracts price automatically
  • Can use AI to find price on page (if regular parser fails)

Price History Chart

Visual chart showing:

  • Your price over time (black line)
  • Competitor prices over time (colored lines)
  • Price change indicators
  • Time range selector if available in settings tab (14 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year)

Chart Features

  • Hover to see exact prices at any point
  • Click competitor name to hide/show them

Repricing Rule Display

If a repricing rule is applied, suggested price is being calculated and updates on:

  • Any competitor price update
  • Your product status switch
  • Repricing rule switch
  • Competitor deletion

Note: repricing rule can suggest a price even when your product is not in Watch & Reprice status. In this case you can set suggested price manually clicking Apply Suggested Price.

Quick Actions

  • Apply Suggested Price: Apply the calculated suggested price (for Shopify PriceOtus version)
  • Discover Competitors: (Re)discover competitors for this specific product (variant)
  • See in admin: Open product profile directly in Shopify (for Shopify PriceOtus version)
  • Use Multiple Variants: Set use multiple variants for this product if you have multiple variants set in Shopify admin (otherwise first default variant is considered)

Product Variants

Products with variants (sizes, colors, etc.):

  • Displayed next to each other in Dashboard (Products tab) with variant title in square brackets.
  • Can have distinct repricing rule
  • Share the same status (Draft, Watch, Watch & Reprice)

Market Stats Overview

At the top of the products list, see market position statistics:

Five Segments

  1. Super Cheap: Your products priced significantly below market
  2. Cheaper: Your products priced below market average
  3. On Par: Your products priced competitively
  4. Expensive: Your products priced above market average
  5. More Expensive: Your products priced significantly above market (most frequently used filter)

Stats Actions

  • Recalculate: Refresh market position calculations
  • Exclude Competitors: Remove specific competitors from calculations
  • Settings: Configure market position thresholds

Stats Settings

  • Base Price: Cheapest competitor, average price of competitors, median price (which competitor price to use to compare with your product price)
  • Consider Draft Products: Whether to include products in Draft status in the Market Stats five categories

Default Segments with default levels:

  • Super Cheap (more than 20% lower than cheapest competitor)
  • Cheaper (5-20% lower than cheapest competitor)
  • On Par (within ±5% of cheapest competitor)
  • Expensive (5-20% above cheapest competitor)
  • More Expensive (20% above cheapest competitor)

Alerted Products Sub-Tab

View products that have triggered alert rules:

Alert Information

  • Which alert rule was triggered
  • Product related to given alert rule

Export and Reporting

CSV Export

  • Export filtered products to CSV
  • Includes: product info, prices, competitors, etc.
  • Useful for external analysis

Email Reports

  • Configure in Settings
  • Weekly or daily reports
  • Summary of price changes and alerts

Best Practices

  1. Regular Review: Check the products list daily for important updates
  2. Use Search Filters: Use filters to focus on specific product groups
  3. Use Market Stats Filters: Use market position filters to focus on specific product segments (works combined with search filters)
  4. Monitor Alerted Tab: Check alerted products regularly for competitive changes
  5. Review Market Stats: Understand your overall market position
  6. Verify Competitors: Confirm competitors are correctly matched (after discovery)
  7. Test Before Repricing: Use "Watch" status before enabling "Watch & Reprice"
  8. Set Safeguards: Configure repricing safeguards to prevent extreme changes (enabled by default)

Troubleshooting

Product Not Showing

  • Check filters - product might be filtered out
  • Verify product exists in Shopify and not in Archived status
  • Make sure your subscription plan supports current number of imported products
  • Refresh the page

Product Price Not Updating

  • Check product status (must be "Watch & Reprice")
  • Verify repricing rule is assigned
  • Check if safeguards are preventing update
  • Ensure competitors are being tracked

Competitors Not Found

  • Try manual addition with competitor URL
  • Check if competitor site is accessible
  • Verify product matching (SKU, barcode, title)
  • Use discovery feature to find alternatives

Market Position Not Calculating

  • Ensure product has competitors
  • Check market position settings
  • Ensure the product is not in Draft, or enable the Consider draft products option in Settings
  • Recalculate market stats manually
